This is very good and is a very accurate portrayal of America's reaction to Pearl Harbor. Making the wound just a headshot was a good choice too. Though, this does make it look like that one attack completely traumatized America, which I really don't believe would happen. The reason is because America has dealt with harder blows than Pearl Harbor. You have to consider that the worst America's faced was the Civil War. The second was the Revolutionary War. This is aside from the fact America was attacked during the War of 1812 when Britain and Canada burned America's capitol.
While I do see America being so cocky that he didn't think he could be touched, I don't see him being traumatized or start being impulsive after Pearl Harbor. What I think would've worked better is if America just slapped England's hand away from his head out of reflects instead of whipping out his gun. You can still get out the message just as strong without making America seem like he's been horribly traumatized.
