Shh....... Now, now, we all knew this was coming. Dining is one of the areas where the French and the Americans tend to differentiate the most. And everyone knows it. So we might as well go ahead and laugh about it. :iconus-xdplz:
You should definitely have the experience of both American and French dining before you die. The contrast is both humorous and startling.

Ahem, so! French fries and french toast are not, like Francis so helpfully clarified for Alfred, originally from France. Typically, it is assumed that the modern day French fry we know and love today originated from Belgium. And for that, America thanks you Belgium. Americans love their French fries. Typically speaking, of course. French toast's origin is much harder to pin down. Basically it came from everywhere in Europe in one form or another and was eventually brought over to America by the early settlers. But in stereotypical America we see the word "French" and we're like, "Hey! It came from France!" Simple logic.

And then there's the stereotypical American portion sizes... :iconyayamericaplz:

Made without malice. For your enjoyment.

Enjoy!

First of all; Awww Alfred you’re adorable for caring about Francis like that. Second, XDD no silly that’s just how French meals are; haven’t you heard that small portions are considered fancy? I mean I’m American too so I’d probably react the same way having a French-style meal for the first time, but I’m sure it would be good.

Lucky Alfred gets to go to Paris whenever he wants....*Grumble Grumble*
